この法人は、自らが汗を流し大地を耕して自然環境を守ること。町屋を観光客などに開放して本物の歴史を伝えながら、町中の空き家を解消する。といった同世代の郡上市民の発想から“言葉”を“形”に、今後の郡上を盛り上げ、郡上市の市民であることに誇りを持ち、活力あるふるさとをつくるための事業を行い地域活性化に寄与することを目的とする。
