この法人は、美作市を中心として岡山県内外に対し、地域づくりの主体である市民、企業、大学と行政との実質的な交流を促進する様々な事業を行い、産官学民の一体的な協力体制を築き、個々の保有する多様な知的・人的資源を有効に活用し、２１世紀に求められる豊かで持続可能な生活圏を構築しようとする社会的取り組みの推進と、社会に貢献できる人材を育成し、来たるべき社会の発展に寄与することを目的とする。
