この法人は、持続可能な循環型社会システムを構築するために、地域や分野を超えたあらゆる活動主体とパートナーシップを図りながら、２１世紀を「環境の世紀」とすべく、非営利の市民活動によって、地球環境の保全と循環型社会形成に係る調査研究事業とその普及活動を行い、国際的な連携も図りながら、新たな地域社会造りに寄与することを目的とする。
