広く一般市民に対して、六戸町にある自然環境について生態系の維持、里山の保全、再生事業、環境を保全するため等の調査研究事業を通し、環境教育、コミュニティづくり、自然と調和した観光資源づくりにより、持続可能な社会の想像と自然豊かな地域社会づくりに寄与することを目的とする。
