この法人は、消費者の権利の確立に関して、消費者や消費者団体・消費者問題専門家・関係諸機関等が連携・連絡・助言・相互援助等を図りつつ、消費生活に関する情報の収集及び提供、消費者被害の未然防止、及び被害救済に関する事業を行い、消費者全体の利益擁護を図り、消費生活の安定向上ならびに消費者市民社会の形成に寄与することを目的とする。
