この法人は、現代社会に生きる人々に、我々の社会が持続可能ではないという現状への理解を促すとともに、この現状を打破するための方策を提示し、持続可能な社会を次世代へ引き継ぐための役割を担うものとする。このために、環境問題や生産消費活動、環境教育に関する調査研究、普及啓蒙活動、政策提言などの事業を不特定多数の個人および団体を対象に実施し、持続可能な社会づくりに向けたライフスタイルの確立に寄与することを目的とする。
