この法人は、未来を担う青少年や保護者並びに東日本大震災被災者の方々を対象に、遠野の自然、遺産、生活文化を生かし、環境保全、自然保護、自然との共生の学習活動を支援する事業を行い、青少年の健全育成、地域間交流、交流人口の拡大による地域振興、東日本大震災復興・再生支援、観光振興等に寄与することを目的とする。
