この法人は、自然とのふれあいの機会が少ない人々に対し、自然観察会や体験活動などの環境教育事業を行い、人々の自然環境に対する意識を向上させ、環境保全を推進するとともに豊かな飛騨の自然と文化について、多くの人々が関心を持ち、訪れることにより地域の活性化と交流産業の発展に寄与する。また、飛騨の自然・文化を幅広い知識をもって解説できるインタープリターの育成を行い、社会教育の推進を図ることを目的とする。
